Overview:

Write On e-Publishing, LLC is offering a Certificate of Independent Authorship through the New Orleans Media Arts Institute (NOMAI) with offices located at Southern University of New Orleans (SUNO) beginning in January, 2017. The program will focus on educating the talented writer on how to develop the brand equity and business model necessary to turn their passion for writing into a profitable vocation. Students who successfully complete the program will attain the knowledge, skills and abilities to profitably self-publish, market and distribute to their choice of consumer markets.

WO1001-Writing for Publication and the Literary Market………………….Tue; 6p - 7p

 

Description: Learn the difference between writing for pleasure and writing for profit. This introduction to creating literary products that are sought after on the open market will help the struggling writer understand the critical basic steps in becoming a profitable, independent author. Course topics include: Literary market basics, converting prose into profit, creating a brand, and more. Students will complete the course successfully with a foundation of understanding and readiness to engage in the for profit literary industry.

 

Class Limit: 20 students

Tuition: $925.00*

Classes begin: January 24, 2017

Registration: January 6th – 20th

WO1002-Business Basics for the Independent Author………………………Thu; 6p-7p

 

Description: Understand how the business of books really works in 2017; then put it to work for you! In this course, students will gain and understanding of business basics as they relate to their career as independent authors. This no-fluff course will give students the business knowledge they need to turn their writing talent into a profitable vocation. Course topics include: Creating the product, distribution strategies, the right pricing model, knowing your customer, your promotion mix, and more. Students will complete the course successfully with a complete business strategy for their profitable writing vocation.

 

Class Limit: 20 students
